Harrison Lofts is an adaptive reuse/historic rehabilitation project currently under development in Lockport, NY. The project emphasizes historic preservation while creating vibrant living and working spaces that support community revitalization.It will transform the former Harrison Radiator industrial facility into a green, affordable, mixed-use project. The large atrium in the center of the building allows an abundance of natural light into the building which will include commercial users and a combination of one and two bedroom loft apartments.
The project centers on Building 3, a three-story, early 20th century structure featuring a dramatic atrium. The large atrium allows an abundance of natural light into the building, ideal for mixed-use programming, which will include commercial users and a combination of one and two bedroom loft apartments. The development will include 82 loft-style apartments.
The property was acquired from the Greater Lockport Development Corporation for $1.05M in December of 2023. As part of the state’s Brownfield Cleanup program, contaminated groundwater, soil excavation, installing subsurface carbon barriers, and implementing soil vapor intrusion safeguards is part of their comprehensive remediation plan. The project received a $10M grant to foster adaptive reuse projects such as the Harrison Lofts and the overall downtown redevelopment.
