Kearney Group began as a boutique development firm renovating multifamily, historic, vacant, and blighted properties in the Hudson Valley. In each case, Kearney Group forged public and private partnerships with state agencies, city officials, county officials, and private investors. This methodology ultimately became a recurring theme and cornerstone of Kearney Group’s strategy in addressing the challenges of adaptive re-use and new construction in urban areas.

Ken Kearney is the founder and president of Kearney Group. Throughout his nearly 20 years of real estate development, Mr. Kearney has grown Kearney Group from a boutique real estate development firm, into a regional leader in the affordable and mixed-income housing industry. Known by friends and associates as “a businessman with a big heart”, Mr. Kearney brings experience, tenacity, a strong work ethic, and solid professional relationships to any project he undertakes.
Sean Kearney joined Kearney Group in 2009. Currently, Sean serves as the Vice President. At Kearney Group, Sean has overseen the development of over 900 units throughout New York State and oversees the management of over 1,300 units of a diverse housing stock which includes; senior, workforce, veteran, supportive, middle-income, market-rate, and artist housing. Recently, Sean’s focus has been on innovative downtown revitalization developments throughout New York State. Sean is also responsible for all contracting and purchasing for Tern Construction & Development.
